The Jewish Community of Maui offers many options for celebrating a Destination Bar/Bat Mitzvah. As a pluralistic community we provide a welcoming space for most Jewish observances and practices. Our goal is to create a ceremony that is joyous and meaningful.

Information on BM Pricing 

Ceremonies offsite can be held on Monday, Thursday mornings, or Shabbat afternoon (only at the Synagogue). Ceremonies in the synagogue can be held at the above times and as part of our synagogue Shabbat morning service.

The pricing below can be adjusted to the needs of your family.

Ceremony and Prayer Preparation (includes $960 tax deductable family JCM membership for the year)

• Preparatory conversations with parents and B-Mitzvah themselves

• Preparatory meeting with tutor (if needed)

• In-person rehearsal at the Shul / location of B Mitzvah

• Ceremony itself

Challah and wine are provided for Shabbat morning services at the synagogue.

• Tutoring will involve 8-10 sessions differentiated for student needs 

• Tutoring can take place in person at the Shul or via Zoom 

• The Rabbi or a layleader will set up a digital learning platform for each student individually

If the family would like to host a seudat mitzvah (festive meal) after the ceremony in the sanctuary, we do have a rental fee of $720. 

Family must provide their own food and beverages. Only unopened kosher items are allowed in the kitchen. We do work with a kosher caterer and can provide their information upon request.
