What is their purpose? How have they been a basis for a Jewish life throughout the generations? How can they apply in our lives, how they can inspire us, and what opportunities can they give us to feel a sense of connection? We will look together at some of the sources and think about their meaning and relevance.
Sam plans to start with a general discussion of what mitzvot are and why they are important.

Community Discovery The Board of Directors has been working on a community discovery for our membership. We sent out surveys, and now we are calling our members with some questions to help determine the path that JCM will take. As a member, this synagogue belongs to you...these surveys and calls are important (even hearing the bad stuff) so that we can make your community the best we can for as many people as we can. We know we won't make everyone happy all the time... but we can make everyone happy if we know what you want.
