Cantor Amichai Levitz We are honored to welcome Cantor Amichai Levitz to the Jewish Congregation of Maui for the High Holidays. Born in Israel, Cantor Levitz spent part of his childhood in Los Angeles before returning to Israel for his high school years and military service. He proudly served three years in a combat unit in the IDF, where he also married his wife Yaffa. Together, they are raising four daughters: Noa, currently serving in a commanders course in a combat unit; Eden, entering 12th grade; Maayan, entering 8th grade; and Naomi, entering 5th grade. Amichai is the owner of A. Levitz Renovations Ltd., a Jerusalem-based contracting company he has run for nearly 20 years. His work in construction reflects his values of integrity, dedication, and craftsmanship—qualities that also shine through in his cantorial work. His musical and spiritual journey began as a young child, singing duets with his father during Shabbat and holiday services. His grandfather, Binyamin Glickman z”l, a renowned teacher and composer of Jewish liturgical music, was a profound influence and inspiration. With deep reverence for this legacy, Cantor Levitz feels privileged to carry on the tradition of heartfelt, soulful prayer. From his earliest experiences standing beside his father on the bimah, he learned to channel emotion and kavannah (intention) through music—an ability that continues to touch and elevate congregations today. Over the years, he has led High Holiday services in Maui, Cape Town, and across Israel, bringing warmth, tradition, and deep spiritual connection to every community he serves. As we enter this new year, Cantor Levitz invites us all to pray together and to pray for the hostages still suffering in Gaza and to pray for their safe return — עכשיו! May this be a year of peace, health, and joy for us all.

Since 1999, We have participated in the Give Aloha program with Foodland, which matches donations up to a certain percent. During the past 25 years, the Sullivan family, the owners of Foodland, have been a wonderful contributor to the Jewish Congregation of Maui.
It's easy to participate. All you have to do is go into your favorite Foodland and at the register, tell them you want to contribute to #77216 the Jewish Congregation of Maui! They do cap the donation at $249 per Makai member, but you can always donate more under a different Maikai number. These are easy to get from family members, friends or even people in line with you.
I also want to point out that there are some added benefits to contributing in this way. Not only are you eligible for a tax write off, but you can gain credit card miles/ rewards and Maikai points!
Thank you in advance for participating in the Give Aloha program. This has been a wonderful benefit for all of us that we hope to continue into the future.
Much Aloha, Larry Feinberg- past Board Member/ President and former Give Aloha Chairman.
