Chanukah is Sunday, Nov 28 - Monday, Dec. 6... yes, that is in less than a month!
We are thrilled to introduce Rabbi Raanan Mallek, a final candidate to be JCM’s next Rabbi. Rabbi Raanan lived on Oahu from ages 1-10; his grandparents were founders of Honolulu’s Congregation Sof Maarav. Rabbi Raanan is currently the Rabbi of Shorashim Village in Israel and the Masorti (Conservative) Rabbi for the Misgav Municipality. Rabbi Raanan received ordination as a Dayan (Judge) from the Integral Halakhah Institute where he focused on Mediation and Adjudication. His Rabbinical Ordination and Master of Jewish Studies is from the Schechter Seminary and Institute in Jerusalem. In addition, Rabbi Raanan has certification in facilitation and negotiation from the Conflict Resolution, Management and Negotiation Graduate Program of Bar Ilan University plus a Master of Jewish Education from Hebrew College.
We’re planning a full week of community events with Rabbi Raanan in January; once we’ve finalized the schedule, details will be in the newsletter. I look forward to seeing you all in person at one or all of these events!
