Candle lighting and blessings will be followed with time to schmooze and enjoy outdoor time together. We’ll also have a circle for those how would like to sing together. We’ll provide challah and wine/grape juice. You are welcome to bring your own picnic. Tonight's event will not be on Zoom. A Sermon by Rabbi Raanan Confronting Our Expectations Parashat Shelach
After departing the spiritual center of Mount Sinai, the Israelites began their journey into the Negev. For all intents and purposes, the community has made it to the Promised Land, to the Land of milk and honey. And yet, this is not what happens. They almost arrive, but that almost is so far away. Just as Moses will see the land from a distance but not enter it, so, too, the Israelites will see their goal in the distance, and not be able to attain it.
