Good Shabbos. On behalf of one of our community members, we kindly request your presence for a minyan for both evening and morning Shabbat services in honoring the memory of their loved one.
Your participation would be greatly appreciated during this time of remembrance.
We are looking forward to you joining us for Shabbat services.
Friday, November 15th will be led by Sam Shnider doors open at 5:30pm; Service starts at 6pm Followed by Kiddush
Saturday, November 16th will be led by visiting guest Rabbi David Kunin Doors open at 9:30am; Service starts at 10am Followed by a light lunch.
Rabbi David Kunin earned a degree in Medieval History from Brandeis University and continued his studies at the Jewish Theological Seminary of America, where he was ordained and received a Master's in Judaic Studies. He has served as a rabbi in various locations, including Glasgow, Elmira, San Diego, Edmonton, and Tokyo, and currently leads Congregation Beth David an inclusive Conservative synagogue in Saratoga, California.
Rabbi Kunin is committed to Jewish education and empowering lay leadership, emphasizing lifelong learning and spiritual growth. A strong advocate for interfaith dialogue, he has promoted harmonious relations among diverse religious groups, chairing the Southern Tier Interfaith Coalition in Elmira and initiating the Walking Together program. He has also held leadership roles in the Edmonton Interfaith Centre and founded the Tokyo Interfaith Center. His community engagement earned him the Alberta Centennial Medal. Alongside his wife Shelley, he has spent 10 years supporting the emerging Jewish community in Indonesia which includes more than three months in the archipeligo.
Shabbat morning services are rare opportunities for JCM, and we are truly grateful and honored to have Rabbi David Kunin lead services as a Miztvah. We invite you to join us for this special service and share in the experience.
