Rabbi Ken has served as a guest High Holiday Cantor for over twenty years at Conservative and Reform congregations. During that time he worked alongside a distinguished group of Rabbis including Ed Feinstein, Daniel Gordis and Marc Gellman. In 1997 Ken made his way to Honolulu, Hawaii where he met the Jewish community of Oahu.
For over twenty years he became a fixture at Temple Emanu-El as Cantorial Soloist, Educator, Spiritual Leader and Rabbi until leaving the congregation in September 2021. He currently serves as a chaplain at Pali Momi Medical Center.
Rabbi Ken and his wife, Hinda Diamond, have two children, Kelvin and Jennie. We look forward to you joining us as we welcome Shabbat with Rabbi Ken.

We are thrilled to have Joshua Kalkstein at the bimah for this special Shabbat service
The Kalkstein family has lived on Maui and been involved with the synagogue since 2002. Josh has been a part of the children's programs all along. Josh was raised with a Jewish education and background and takes great pleasure in imparting that heritage on to the next generation.
Come join us this Saturday morning from 10 AM - 11 AM for a Kids Shabbat Service. We'll be learning the most familiar and important prayers, singing together and getting accustomed to the morning service. This will be a great way to begin to prepare for a Bat/Bar Mitzvah,to review one you already had, or just to learn the songs! The future of the Jewish people lies in the hands of the children!

Friendly reminder for the Annual Members Meeting
Dear Members of the Jewish Congregation of Maui (JCM),
As we approach the end of the year, we would like to notify you of our upcoming Board andAnnual Members Meeting scheduled for June 29, 2025. This gathering provides us with an opportunity to come together as a community, reflect on the past year, and discuss plans for the future. We will be addressing key issues, sharing updates, and seeking your valuable input on matters important to our synagogue community.
Meeting Details: ● Date: June 29, 2025 ● Times: 11am-1pm Board Meeting. All are welcome but may be asked to briefly exit the synagogue if there is an executive session. 1pm-2pm - Annual Members Meeting. Light refreshments will be serve but everyone is welcome to bring kosher snacks or a dish to share. ● Location: Jewish Congregation of Maui, Beit Shalom Synagogue 634 Alulike St, Kihei, HI 96753.
