Reverse Tashlich Sunday, Oct. 2 Beach Clean up! 8:00am Instead of throwing things into the ocean, we will take things out of the ocean! RSVP to admin@mauijews.org Wear a blue shirt if you can for group unity :) Meet at the Kealia Boardwalk. Carpool, if possible. Wear a blue shirt (if possible), bring a hat, water bottle, and sun screen. We will have a tent and water for refilling your water bottles. Partnering with the Maui Ocean Center.

We have buckets, sand screens for microplastics, and bags for trash.
We will meet at 8 or as soon after as possible, head to the beach near the boardwalk at 8:30, after a brief talk by staff from Maui Ocean Center Marine Institute. We will spend up to an hour cleaning, then assemble to sort and count trash, which will be included in the MOCMI database, as well as reported to Tikkum Hayam.
Shabbat Shuvah - The Shabbat of Return שׁוּבָה יִשְׂרָאֵל עַד יְהֹוָה אֱלֹהֶיךָ Return, O Israel, to the Eternal your G!d. (Hosea 14:2)
This Shabbat is Shabbat Shuvah, the Shabbat of Return (שבת שובה) and refers to the Shabbat that occurs during the Ten Days of Repentance, and is between Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur. The name Shabbat Shuvah comes from the first word of the Haftarah from the verse above that comes from the prophet Hosea 14:2–10.
We are currently in the very auspicious days called "The Ten Days of Teshuva (repentance/return)." Most people associate Teshuva with a melancholy and even sad process.
