It's a been a month since the devastating wildfires that ravaged through Lahaina and greatly affected the Kula residences in Maui. With heavy hearts, we witnessed the strength of the Maui Community and our congregation members come together to provide support to those who lost so much. We cannot express enough gratitude for your generosity during these trying times. However, the survivors of this tragedy still need continued support. We humbly ask that you keep them in your thoughts and hearts, and if possible, contribute to their ongoing recovery efforts.
Upon his visit to Maui, Rabbi Gadi took the time to see where he could be of service. He made a stop in Lahaina and came across the Lahaina Civic Center. Although untouched, the sign shows the heavy dusting of ashes and soot from the fires. At this spot, Rabbi Gadi said a prayer for those who lives were lost and those who lost a loved one. May we all to continue to pray for Lahaina, mourn the many lives that were lost, and pray for their souls and for the healing of those who survived.
Aloha and Shabbat Shalom
Our friends from the Church of Latter Day Saints are moving on. Elder James Cook has completed his mission and will be going home to see his much missed family. Elder Taylor is being assigned in Hana. We are grateful for their help in keeping our garden alive and wish them the best in their new life journeys.
We apologize for the lateness of this announcement but we want to congratulate Samuel Holz on his recent Bar Mitzvah. We had the honor to host the Holz family and their loveds ones at JCM on August 26th; 9th of Elul and blessed to have Rabbi Gadi who was on holiday to lead the services. Even one of our board members, Mitch Berman shared words of wisdom and a blessing With all the darkness surrounding the wildfires, this was a touching and an uplifting occasion for us at JCM.

If you don't give today, how can we be here tomorrow?
You may not need us every day, or even every week. But when you want us, you need us to be here.
Please give a gift to JCM. We rely solely on donations/memberships to pay our bills, our salaries, and programming. Your gift now will ensure that our dynamic leadership team has the resources we need to be here for you and your Maui Jewish community.
Give with joy, give with pride, give today.
P.S. We're not spending money and using resources to send out letters, this is our ask and our reminder to you that we do not exist without you.
It is time to renew your membership for 5784: 2023-2024
