We are delighted to have Rabbi Ken Aronowitz from Oahu who will be bringing his musical talent and making his debut on the bimah at the Jewish Congregation of Maui this Friday, December 15th
Rabbi Ken has served as guest High Holiday Cantor for over twenty years at Conservative and Reform congregations. During that time he worked alongside a distinguished group of Rabbis including Ed Feinstein, Daniel Gordis and Marc Gellman.
In 1997 Rabbi Ken made his way to Honolulu, Hawaii where he met the Jewish community of Oahu. For over twenty years he became a fixture at Temple Emanu-El as Cantorial Soloist, Educator, Spiritual Leader and Rabbi until leaving the congregation in September 2021.
He currently serves as a chaplain at Pali Momi Medical Center. Rabbi Ken and his wife, Hinda Diamond, have two children, Kelvin and Jennie.

We've launched a DROP-IN TALK STORY GROUP to provide a safe space to share thoughts and feelings after the recent life changing events, including the Maui Wildfire tragedy, war in the Middle East with its immediate and multigenerational effects and all the hurt and chaos of being in the world at this time. We have all been affected whether we are still living here on beautiful Maui or have left for work or family. Work, life and relationships have changed. We may be feeling sadness, overwhelm, disorientation, stress, etc. Come listen and share with others.

•Group is drop-in and available for connecting with others, to chat/vent/share your questions, thoughts, feelings, concerns. There will be no record keeping of attendance or what is discussed and there is no commitment about attendance. Attendees are welcome to stay as long as they wish and to come as often as they like. It is fine just to be present and to listen. Please respect confidentiality to the greatest extent possible, especially not disclosing who is present or who spoke about a particular topic.
The goals of the group are: •to create a safe place to connect and dialogue, •to provide attendees with mutual aid and support with a sense of safety and belonging, •to provide information sharing and problem solving if desired, and •to help maintain strength and resiliency and prevent burnout.

Talmud Torah (our religious school) has started!
Children learn Hebrew, study Jewish history and holidays, learn songs and prayers, sing, dance, do creative crafts, and have a grand time with their Jewish friends. Some highlights of previous years are clay menorah making, planting a garden, presenting several wonderful Purim plays, and Israeli dancing.
Talmud Torah will meet on Sunday mornings from 10:30-12pm. Children ages 5-12 may enroll. Contact Kalo or Happy Lefton to register!!
