We are incredibly grateful to each and every person who took part in our Pesach celebration and played a role in making our seder dinner a resounding success. Your presence, enthusiasm, and contributions made the event truly memorable and meaningful.
From those who helped with the preparations, to those who shared their talents and performances, to those who attended and added to the joyous atmosphere, we extend our heartfelt thanks. Your participation made a significant difference and we are truly grateful for your support.
There is one exceptional individual to whom we would like to give special recognition. In the midst of acknowledging our team while preparing for the seder, we inadvertently overlooked a remarkable individual.
She's been referred to as the Greatest of All Time (G.O.A.T) Our beautifully big-hearted JCM Board Member- Barbara Cooper.
Aside from Passover, Barbara has gone above and beyond to support our community throughout the year. Her unwavering dedication and selfless actions, from assisting with wildfire donations to being the first through the doors to help set up and decorate the shul for sevices and events , and staying afterwards to help clean-up. She even has taken care of tasks behind the scenes like mowing the lawn and washing dishes.
Additionally, Barbara selflessly moved her family seder to the second night so that our community could celebrate on the first night!
Barbara's innovative ideas during meetings and outreach for donations, has truly made a difference and her contributions have been invaluable to the success of our events and the growth of JCM.
Her cleverness, vibrant energy and strength are truly admirable, especially considering her commitment to raising a family and working a full-time job with a long daily commute. Despite her busy schedule, she still finds time to devote to JCM.
Barbara, Toda raba, Mahalo Nui Loa for your kokua, We are incredibly grateful for your unwavering support, compassionate nature and humbling manner, which is a reflection of the spirit JCM strives to be.

Mahalo to everyone who joined us for services throughout March. Our Family musical Shabbat last week was a blast! Cynthia Lebowitz led services, with the amazing accompaniment of Barbara Singer and Ernesto Peraza. Rabbi Ken paid a surprised visit and joined in the merriment. What a treat!
Afterward, we enjoyed a delicious potluck. A big thank you to all who brought a yummy dish to share. We also want to express our gratitude to Meera and Minao Kamegai and their family visiting from the Mainland. Their invaluable help in setting up the Shul for both the service and Oneg made it possible for us to have a wonderful evening together.
Thank you for your ongoing support. Be sure to check out our lineup for April - we can't wait to have you join us!

We are launching this DROP-IN TALK STORY GROUP to provide a safe space to share thoughts and feelings after the recent life changing events, including the Maui Wildfire tragedy, war in the Middle East with its immediate and multigenerational effects and all the hurt and chaos of being in the world at this time. We have all been affected whether we are still living here on beautiful Maui or have left for work or family. Work, life and relationships have changed. We may be feeling sadness, overwhelm, disorientation, stress, etc. Come listen and share with others.
DROP-IN TALK STORY GROUP on Tuesday, December 12 , 2023 from 11:00 AM-12:30 PM and on Mondays after the holidays 11:00-12:30 PM. We look forward to your joining us.

•Group is drop-in and available for connecting with others, to chat/vent/share your questions, thoughts, feelings, concerns. There will be no record keeping of attendance or what is discussed and there is no commitment about attendance. Attendees are welcome to stay as long as they wish and to come as often as they like. It is fine just to be present and to listen. Please respect confidentiality to the greatest extent possible, especially not disclosing who is present or who spoke about a particular topic.
The goals of the group are: •to create a safe place to connect and dialogue, •to provide attendees with mutual aid and support with a sense of safety and belonging, •to provide information sharing and problem solving if desired, and •to help maintain strength and resiliency and prevent burnout.

Talmud Torah (our religious school) has started!
Children learn Hebrew, study Jewish history and holidays, learn songs and prayers, sing, dance, do creative crafts, and have a grand time with their Jewish friends. Some highlights of previous years are clay menorah making, planting a garden, presenting several wonderful Purim plays, and Israeli dancing.
Talmud Torah will meet on Sunday mornings from 10:30-12pm. Children ages 5-12 may enroll. Contact Kalo or Happy Lefton to register!!
